IFMIF-DONES at the first REDNEUMAT meeting to boost Materials Science

The Spanish Network of Neutron Techniques for the Promotion of Materials Science and the Optimization of the Use of Large-Scale Neutron Facilities (REDNEUMAT) has been established with the aim of driving new applications in materials analysis, fostering scientific collaboration, and strengthening the international visibility of Spanish research.

Archaeology, biomedicine, large civil infrastructures, automotive, electronics, and the space industry are among the sectors and disciplines benefiting from REDNEUMAT, which is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

At its first meeting, held in Santander last week, María Pedrosa Rivera, Safety and Radiological Protection Analyst at IFMIF-DONES, took part as a speaker. Her presentation focused on the potential of IFMIF-DONES’ complementary experimental rooms for conducting materials research.

The meeting marked the first in-person event of this national network, which brings together leading groups from universities such as the University of the Basque Country, Public University of Navarre, University of Granada, University of Almería, University of Oviedo, and the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as renowned institutions including BCMaterialsCFM-CSICINMA-CSIC-UZITQ-CSICIEM-CSICICMAB-CSICICMM-CSIC and ESS-Bilbao
