The ‘Women in DONES’ collective is growing
Posted on |
Almost fifty people already make up ‘Women in DONES’ (WiD). The group comprises professionals from different fields, such as engineers, professors, pre-doctoral students, researchers, biomedical researchers, administrative technicians, and industrial sector representatives from other cities and countries who work around IFMIF-DONES.
On February 6, they held a new online meeting. The meeting served to distribute the members of WiD in the different work areas created and lay the foundations of the mission and objectives that will structure their actions.
For the second consecutive year, WiD will give special recognition to a woman with an outstanding professional career in the fusion energy sector. The award will be presented during the 2nd Xcitech School, from April 21 to 26. In the last edition, the Director General of CIEMAT, Yolanda Benito, and the former rector of the University of Granada, Pilar Aranda, were honoured.
The next WiD meeting will take place on April 15.
Among the latest activities carried out by this women’s group created around IFMIF-DONES is the celebration, together with the Red Cross, of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
