University of Granada Contemporary Culture Centre hosts a lecture by Moisés Weber

The interim director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, Moisés Weber, delivered on 6 May the lecture titled “The IFMIF-DONES project, key to fusion energy”, an outreach-focused talk highlighting the potential of this major scientific infrastructure.

The lecture took place at 7:00 p.m. in the Salón de Caballeros XXIV of the Palacio de la Madraza, with free admission until full capacity was reached. The event was organised by La Madraza. Contemporary Culture Centre of the University of Granada, through the Emilio Herrera Linares Chair of Science and Technology.

During his presentation, Weber explained—using an accessible approach for a general audience—the capabilities of the particle accelerator currently under construction in Granada and its strategic role in advancing fusion energy. The lecture emphasised how IFMIF-DONES will contribute to moving towards the commercial viability of this energy source, widely regarded as key for the future due to its potential as a clean, safe and virtually inexhaustible form of energy.
