IFMIF-DONES, a model of Innovative Public Procurement
Posted on |

The 7th Ibero-American Forum on Innovative Public Procurement (CPI) and Open Innovation hosted the presentation of the DONES project as a leading example of Innovative Public Procurement. Moisés Weber, Deputy Director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, delivered the talk “Strategy for Singular Infrastructures and Innovative Public Procurement: The DONES Project.”
The Pre-commercial Public Procurement initiative for DONES, promoted by CDTI and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), has a budget of more than 48 million euros. Its goal is to develop Integrated Technological Validators for the Accelerator Systems (VATIAC) and the Test Area Systems (VATIST). These platforms will enable the Consortium to carry out long-term tests on critical systems and components essential for the future international large scientific facility IFMIF-DONES.
This edition of the Forum brings together the Ibero-American ecosystem of CPI and open innovation in Granada from 19 to 21 November. It is the only multi-sector CPI event in Spain and Latin America, serving as a meeting point to recognise the people and institutions that implement this tool, while fostering networking and building connections among CPI specialists across Spain and Latin America.
