Job description:

The IFMIF-DONES scientific infrastructure is beginning its construction in Escúzar (Granada), with the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium playing a highly relevant role. Like most Large Scientific Facilities of this kind, IFMIF-DONES requires control systems with high availability and reliability requirements, as well as robust architectures for communications, data acquisition and processing, synchronization, and advanced protection and safety mechanisms.

As part of the Engineering Department, the selected candidate will join the IFMIF-DONES Control Systems team, participating in the design and integration of control systems for the facility. In particular, the activity will focus on the development of the full lifecycle of the Machine Protection System (MPS): from architecture and requirements definition to integration, validation, and commissioning, in coordination with the rest of the stakeholders.

The duties to be performed include:

• Contributing to the architectural design of control systems and their integration with the rest of the systems and subsystems.
• Preparing engineering documentation and technical specifications, including the definition of requirements, interfaces, signal lists, and acceptance criteria.
• Participating in the development and integration of hardware and software solutions, including technology selection and evaluation of alternatives.
• Defining and executing validation and integration strategies, including acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), verification procedures, and support for incident resolution.
• Participating in prototyping, manufacturing, integration, validation testing, commissioning, and system operation activities.
• Configuration management (hardware, software, and documentation).
• Contributing to the continuous improvement, standardization, and maintainability of the system, as well as coordination with other technical teams in an international and multicultural environment.
• Participation in working groups in an international and multicultural environment, as well as in R&D projects.
• Development and participation in experiments related to IFMIF‑DONES technologies and components.
• Dissemination through journals, conferences, and events.

Basic annual remuneration distributed in 14 payments: EUR 48.563,14 (gross salary)

Annual basic remuneration in accordance with the salary tables in force on the date of publication of the call.

Should any salary increase be introduced in those salary tables after the publication date of the call, such increase will be applied when formalizing the contract corresponding to the position.
