Workshop held for the design of the VATIST prototype
Posted on |

On 18 and 19 February a workshop was held in Granada which brought together the IFMIF DONES Consortium, CDTI and the DONES TCO Joint Venture, the successful bidder of Lot 2 (VATIST): experimental target systems and irradiation test areas.
This lot is part of the contracts resulting from the Pre-commercial Public Procurement (PCP) of R&D Services for the development of innovative solutions in the field of validation of systems and materials in fusion energy, managed by CDTI with the collaboration of the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium.
The objective of this initiative is the development of innovative solutions, currently not available on the market, to solve the needs identified by the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium and which can be validated in a pre-operational environment.
The prototypes resulting from these R&D services, called Integrated Technology Validators (VATI), include a set of highly relevant and novel technologies in accelerator systems and lithium target and test systems.
This is a Pre-commercial Public Procurement project co-funded by CDTI and ERDF 2021-2027.
