The new science outreach session organised by IFMIF-DONES explored the latest developments in Virtual, Augmented, Mixed and Metaverse Reality. The meeting, open to the public and also broadcast in streaming, took place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Granada, on 23 September, from 11 am to 1 pm.
“May Valeria be with you…” was the title of the first lecture, given by Jesús Garrido, head of the Virtual Reality (VR) Laboratory for remote manipulation at DONES. Garrido presented the advances that have been obtained by the research team in the “VALERIA” Laboratory (Virtual ReAlity Lab for sciEntific and industRIal fAcilities) associated with DONES.
This was followed by a round table discussion on the possibilities that Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality can offer IFMIF-DONES. As a starting point, the Virtualware presented an example of the use of these technologies in a real project.
