The European High-Level Roundtable on Fusion energy calls for closer collaboration between the public and the private sector

The European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Iliana Ivanova, chaired the first ‘High Level Round Table on Fostering Innovation for Fusion Energy in Europe’ on 14 March.

Our Deputy Director, Moisés Weber, attended this meeting. Top representatives from the world of fusion in the public sector discussed with an international representative of the fusion industry how best to collaborate in a future where the fusion programme has to migrate from the laboratory phase to its industrial phase.

The result was a recognition at the highest level of the parties’ understanding and interest in collaboration and a commitment by all to enhance the channels for this collaboration.

Commissioner Ivanova took up the gauntlet and expressed her satisfaction with the sector’s high level of involvement.
