The CIEMAT director general, Yolanda Benito, and the director of Technology, José Manuel Pérez, today visited the works that the CIEMAT is building in Citai (Escúzar, Granada) and which will be made available to IFMIF-DONES in the coming months. The facilities under development include the Administration and Visitors, Access Control and Laboratories buildings, which exceed 7,000 square metres of floor space.
Accompanied by members of IFMIF-DONES, Benito and Pérez toured the area to see first-hand the progress of the work. After this visit, the delegation moved to the UGR-DONES Research Centre, where they examined the prototypes under development, highlighting the LITEc, the result of collaboration between the CIEMAT and IFMIF-DONES teams.
The day concluded with a working meeting between CIEMAT officials and the director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, Ángel Ibarra. During the meeting, the project’s current status was analysed and future joint activities were coordinated.
