The 4th DONES Users Workshop will take place in person in Madrid, Spain, from 13 to 15 October 2026, at CIEMAT headquarters. The event is jointly organized by esDONES and CIEMAT.

The main objective of this edition is to propose key experiments that can benefit from the already envisaged extensions of the DONES baseline facility, particularly those linked to its experimental capabilities. These include the addition of a second accelerator, post-irradiation examination facilities, the TOF-DONES facility, and a collimated neutron beam facility.

The scientific areas of interest that will shape the different sessions include:

• Materials qualification for fusion programmes, DEMO, and future fusion power plants
• Tritium breeding technologies: validation in DONES
• Functional materials studies and other fusion technologies
• Nuclear physics: TOF-DONES facility and related experiments
• Industrial neutron irradiation and societal applications
• Life sciences and medical applications
• Benchmark experiments for computational materials science
• Experiments during the DONES commissioning phase
• Discussion of the DONES experimental programme proposal
• Next steps for the DONES Users Community and selection of User Committee members

The deadline for submitting abstracts is from May 1 to June 15, 2026.

Early registration, which will open soon, will close on August 31, 2026.
