“IFMIF-DONES: Overview of the facility and exploration of complementary experiments for future medical applications” was the title of the seminar held on 10 October at the López-Neyra Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine (IPBLN), part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and located in the Health Technology Park (PTS) in Granada.
María Pedrosa Rivera, Safety and Radiation Protection Analyst at IFMIF-DONES, and Danyl Pérez Sánchez, Head of the Radiation Protection, Waste and Occupational Safety Section within the Safety, Health and Environment Department at IFMIF-DONES delivered the presentations. Both speakers presented the current status of the particle accelerator facilities, their main objectives, and the potential for complementary experiments with promising applications in the medical field.
The seminar provided an opportunity to share updated information with the CSIC scientific community in Granada, highlight the project’s scientific and technological relevance, and promote future collaborations linking fusion research, radiation science, and biomedical applications.
