One hundred international experts take part in the IFMIF Technical Coordination Meeting #02

A hundred international experts participated in the IFMIF Technical Coordination Meeting #02, held in Granada from 18 to 20 November. This event, organised by Fusion for Energy and el IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, follows the 1st IFMIF Technical Coordination Meeting, held in Rokkasho (Japan) in 2024.

The main objective of the meeting was to share the work and results of the DONES Programme and the Broader Approach activities related to the IFMIF/EVEDA Project. In this way, the two international teams gathered in Granada, strengthening coordination between both fusion projects.

The IFMIF/EVEDA project aims to produce an integrated engineering design of the IFMIF plant and the data required for future decisions regarding the construction, operation, exploitation, and decommissioning of the future Fusion Neutron Source. It also includes the completion of engineering validation activities for its three main facilities: the Test Facility, the Lithium Target Facility, and the Accelerator Facility (LIPAc).

In addition to the presentations and talks held at the Parque de las Ciencias, participants visited the IFMIF-DONES facilities in Escúzar (Granada), where they were introduced to the installation’s prototypes and buildings.
