Our Acting Director, Moisés Weber, participated in the opening of the COSIRES (Conference on Systemic Risks and Resilience), taking place from May 18 to 22 at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, Canals and Ports of the University of Granada. Este encuentro científico analiza los recientes avances y logros en la modelización computacional de los efectos de la radiación en los materiales. La comprensión fundamental de estos fenómenos suele ser inaccesible mediante experimentos, dado que ocurren en escalas de tiempo y longitud muy pequeñas. El notable desarrollo del hardware, el software y las metodologías teóricas en los últimos años ha impulsado este campo a la vanguardia de la ciencia moderna. 

The conference features keynote lectures, technical sessions, specialised workshops and networking opportunities, all designed to promote international collaboration and the development of innovative solutions to major global challenges.

In addition to Weber, our colleagues Pablo Canca and Pedro Delgado are also taking part in COSIRES 2026: the former will deliver a presentation, while the latter will present a scientific poster. Conference participants will also visit the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium facilities in Escúzar.
