IFMIF-DONES participated in the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the European Spallation Source, with our colleague Celia Carvajal, Control Systems Engineering Section Leader, serving as a member of the Integrated Control System sub-committee (cTAC). Her attendance contributed to technical analysis and advisory work on control systems and integration.

During the meeting, held in Lund (Sweden) from 16 to 18 September, international experts from leading research centres and large-scale scientific infrastructures assessed the current status of ESS development and discussed key aspects related to operation, integration, technological evolution and readiness for future project phases. In particular, strategic areas such as control system architecture, operation of complex facilities, technology lifecycle management and standardisation were addressed.

This participation provided first-hand insight into ESS progress and fostered the exchange of experiences and best practices with other leading scientific facilities. Attendance at this type of committee represents an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration among major research infrastructures and to continue promoting the technical excellence that characterises IFMIF-DONES.
