The Science Park of Granada hosted the prestigious SLHiPP-10 workshop (10th Open Collaboration Meeting on Superconducting Linacs for High Power Proton Beam), organised by the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium and the ESS (European Spallation Source).
The meeting aims was to share the current status and relevant developments in high-power proton beam superconducting linear accelerator technologies. 65 representatives from 22 leading European, Japanese, Chinese and American organisations attended by the scientific conference worldwide.
The holding of SLHiPP-10 in Granada allowed IFMIF-DONES, as a world-leading facility in this type of accelerator, to prepare and improve its designs during the construction phase, as well as to establish meaningful international collaborations in the most critical technologies of these scientific infrastructures.
During the last day, which took place on 7th March, the participants visited the works that IFMIF-DONES is carrying out in Escúzar (Granada).
The participants arrived that Sweden, Belgium, the United States, Spain, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Poland.
SLHiPP-10 was attended by representatives of leading international organisations in this field, such as BNL, CEA, CIEMAT, European Spallation Source ERIC, F4E, GANIL, GANIL-SPIRAL2, GSI, IFJ PAN, IFMIF-DONES España, Institute of Modern Physics, CAS, Institute of High Energy Physics, Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN, Legnaro National Laboratories, Universidad de Granada, Uppsala University, Lodz University of Technology Department of Microelectronics and Computer Science, National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology, Safran Electronic & Defense Spain SL, Safran Navigation & Timing, Safran SED Spain y SCK CEN.
