“Estela” is making significant progress in its bid for a nomination at the 2026 Goya Awards. This animated short film, produced by Rokyn Animation and Grupo ADM, and directed and written by Manuel Sicilia, is supported by IFMIF-DONES in collaboration with the Universidad de Granada, Ayuntamiento de Granada, Diputación de Granada, Cámara de Comercio de Granada, Ayuntamiento de Escúzar, and CanalSur.
So far, Estela has already been selected for screening at several Goya-qualifying festivals: the Almagro International Film Festival, FESCIGU Committed Cinema Festival in Guadalajara, and the K-Lidoscopi Short Film Festival in Cullera (Valencia). It has also been chosen by the Islantilla (Huelva) Under the Moon International Film Festival, the Childhood and Adolescence Film Festival (Colombia), and the National Short Film Festival Ciudad de Ávila.
Estela tells the story of a curious and determined young girl whose lifelong dream is to travel to space. Her journey runs parallel to a major scientific project that changes her life—and reaches where no one has gone before.
At its latest edition, the Andalusian Film Academy awarded Estela the Carmen Award for Best Animated Short Film, highlighting the central role of IFMIF-DONES in its narrative.
