Croatia awards Ángel Ibarra for his contribution to IFMIF-DONES

Croatia has honoured Ángel Ibarra with the Danica Hrvatska Medal, featuring the effigy of Ruđer Bošković, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of IFMIF-DONES.

The award was presented by the Ambassador of Croatia to Spain, Nives Malenica, during a ceremony held in Madrid on 28 April. The event was attended by the Secretary General for Research at the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Eva Ortega-Paíno, as well as IFMIF-DONES Acting Director Moisés Weber, alongside other authorities and representatives from organisations such as CIEMAT, the Ruđer Bošković Institute and the City Council of Zagreb.

This recognition reinforces the strong collaboration developed over more than a decade between the Ruđer Bošković Institute, CIEMAT and IFMIF-DONES Spain within the framework of the IFMIF-DONES project.

“I am deeply grateful, proud and honoured by this recognition, and I hope to continue contributing to this collaboration and to the progress of this project in the future,” said Ángel Ibarra after receiving the award.
