Collaboration with the Course on Fusion Safety and Regulation in the EU

Registration is now open for theEU Fusion Safety and Regulation Course 2026. 2026,
a major opportunity to learn from leading experts shaping the future of fusion energy around the world. As private fusion companies move toward pilot plant development, conversations around fusion device safety and the regulatory environment for an emerging commercial fusion industry are taking center stage. Participants will learn about key safety considerations for fusion devices, the regulations that apply to planned fusion facilities, and how other industries develop safety cultures. The course will also cover important safety topics that apply to lab-scale fusion research today, such as tritium handling and management of cryogenic systems.
Organized by Clean Air Task Force, in partnershipwith Xcitech School on Science and Technology (Xcitech is jointly organised by IFMIF/DONES and the University of Granada), and hosted at the Headquarters of Fusion for Energy, this three-day course will feature insights from international leaders with hands-on experience at the most advanced fusion facilities around the world. Through a blend of lectures, real-world case studies, and interactive discussions with other fusion professionals you’ll gain the practical knowledge needed to meaningfully engage with the topics of fusion safety and regulation.
The course will take place at the Headquarters of Fusion for Energy, Barcelona, Spain, Tuesday 17 – Thursday 19 February, 2026.
