Ángela García receives the Women in DONES recognition

The closing ceremony of the Big Science Industry Forum Spain (BSIFS) served as the setting for the recognition awarded to Ángela García by the Women in DONES (WiD) collective for her contribution to the development of fusion energy. Throughout her successful career, Ángela García has worked in organisations such as CIEMAT, ITER and IFMIF-DONES, among others.

The Director General of the CDTI, José Moisés Martín Carretero, presented the award to Ángela García. Several WiD representatives and other members of the DONES team accompanied the honouree during this highly emotional moment.

“Dear Women in DONES, I want to thank you again, a thousand times over, for the award. It was an incredible day for me. The ceremony was beautiful, very moving, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the sculpture!” said Ángela García.

For their part, the WiD collective also thanks its members for their participation in this edition of the Women in DONES 2025 Recognition and, in particular, Belén del Cerro, Amaia Echevarría and Leonor Mendoza for organising the event.

Finally, congratulations to the CDTI, Ineustar and Induciencia, organisers of the BSIFS, for the success of the forum.
