The international scientific community specialising in particle accelerators gathered at the 12th edition of the SLHiPP-12 forum (Superconducting Linacs for High Power Proton Beams), a leading event focused on the development of superconducting linear accelerators for high-power proton beams. The meeting, held in Sweden from 24 to 26 March, was attended by an IFMIF-DONES delegation composed of Jorge Maestre, Santiago Becerril, Celia Carvaja and César Caballero.
The aim of this workshop was to exchange information and lessons learned from similar high-power linear accelerator facilities, involving projects such as ESS, MYRRHA, IFMIF-DONES and SPIRAL2.
Superconducting high-power proton accelerators play a key role in fields such as fusion energy, nuclear and particle physics research, as well as industrial and medical applications, highlighting the importance of this type of forum for global scientific and technological progress.
