An IFMIF-DONES delegation participates in IPAC 2026

The IFMIF-DONES España Consortium took part in the International Particle Accelerator Conference 2026, held in Deauville (France) from May 17 to 22. This event is the leading global conference on particle accelerators, bringing together more than 1,400 experts from scientific institutions, international laboratories, and technology companies.

The IFMIF-DONES delegation was composed of Manuel Gutiérrez, Jorge Herranz, Iván Podadera, and Ignacio Sampedro, who presented several posters showcasing key advances of the project. Topics covered included the development of control systems, beam profile diagnostics experiments, cooling solutions, as well as technical aspects related to the DONES programme and the DONES-ConP1 project.

Particular mention should be made of Jorge Herranz’s participation as a sponsored student. In addition to presenting his work, he played an active role in the conference by supporting the organisation of technical sessions alongside other international experts.

The event also featured representatives from other institutions contributing to IFMIF-DONES through in-kind contributions, such as Francesco Grespan and Andrea Pisent from the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare.
