A delegation from DONES, composed of José Aguilar, Iván Podadera, Antonio Moreno, and Pierre Gavouyere-Lasserre, visited the European Spallation Source (ESS) scientific facility in Lund, Sweden, on June 25 and 26.

The visit provided an opportunity to share valuable experiences and lessons learned between the two facilities, which will be instrumental during the current construction phase and the future operation of DONES.

The ESS features unique capabilities that will far exceed and complement those of the world’s leading neutron sources. This will open up new opportunities for researchers across the full spectrum of scientific discovery, including materials and life sciences, energy, environmental technology, cultural heritage, and fundamental physics.
