Local DONES Forum holds its follow-up meeting

The Local DONES Forum held its third follow-up meeting today at the Palacio de Quinta Alegre in Granada. The Director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, Ángel Ibarra, presented the latest updates on the project to the attendees.
Among other topics, he highlighted the consolidation of international participation achieved this year, thanks to Japan’s incorporation as a partner country and the €200 million investment by the European Commission through Fusion for Energy. Ibarra also outlined the current state of negotiations with other countries, including Italy, Germany and France.
He further announced that IFMIF-DONES has obtained the STEP label, granted by the European Commission to support strategic, critical, and emerging technologies and their respective value chains in key sectors.
The Director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium also reported on the main framework agreements launched to the market in recent months and concluded by announcing that he will retire at the end of this year.
The Local DONES Forum includes representatives from the City Council of Granada, the Government Subdelegation, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the University of Granada, the Provincial Council of Granada, the City Council of Escúzar, the Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Granada Entrepreneurs, Citai, CCOO, UGT, and the political parties Partido Popular, PSOE, Izquierda Unida, and VOX Granada, as well as the Parque de las Ciencias.
