International EUROfusion Experts Meet in Granada for the IREMEV Technical Meeting
Posted on |

The IREMEV (Integrated Radiation Effects Modelling and Experimental Validation) technical meeting, organized in collaboration with IFMIF-DONES, has brought together international experts from the EUROfusion programme to advance knowledge on irradiation effects in fusion materials. This scientific event is taking place from June 25 to 27 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Granada.
IREMEV is part of the WPMat (Materials Work Package), which focuses on the experimental validation and predictive modelling of radiation effects on structural materials. The goal is to understand and anticipate the behaviour of these materials under the extreme conditions expected in DEMO and future fusion reactors.
The meeting provides an opportunity to coordinate experimental campaigns, share recent results, and strengthen collaboration among leading European centres involved in the development of advanced materials for fusion energy.
The programme also includes a visit to the UGR-DONES building to showcase progress on the scientific infrastructure, as well as the prototypes currently under testing (MuVacAs, STUMM Proto, and LITEC).
