The IFMIF-DONES España Consortium and the Red Cross organised an activity at the Science Park to commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Some thirty users of the ‘Bridges for Equality in Employment’ project of the humanitarian organisation learned who they are and what they do several representatives of Women in DONES (WiD), a group of women from different professional backgrounds who work in DONES. The session was attended by Aida Padial, Blanca Biel, Gloria Velasco, Inma Molina, Lorena Madero and Ruth Maldonado.
One of the commitments of the Red Cross Employment Knowledge Area is to “facilitate access to and improve job opportunities, fighting against discrimination and in favour of equal opportunities based on origin, gender and age, with special emphasis on jobs that allow people to live in dignity”.
During the conference, the need to promote professional diversification and encourage youth vocations was stressed, as well as the need to make visible the role of women in Science in general and in IFMIF-DONES in particular.
