The rector of the University of Granada, Pedro Mercado, assures that IFMIF DONES is "strategic not only for the UGR, but also for Andalusia and Spain". And he adds: "Being well placed in the ranking of Shanghai (second Spanish university and among the 300 best in the world) is a responsibility to the world that does not make us forget our commitment to those closest to us".

European Ministers of Science and Innovation meet IFMIF-DONES

The director of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, Ángel Ibarra, today took part in the informal ministerial meeting on Competitiveness and Research of the European Union, which took place in Santander, on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

IFMIF-DONES and ITER will explore avenues for joint collaboration

A delegation of the IFMIF-DONES España Consortium, led by its Director, Ángel Ibarra, paid an institutional visit to ITER in Cadarache (France) on 18 July.

IFMIF-DONES and KYOTO FUSIONEERING strenghet their ties

Representatives of the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium and the Japanese company Kyoto Fusioneering held two working sessions in Granada on 20 and 21 July. During the sessions, both teams explored the possible lines of collaboration they can jointly address in the field of fusion energy and, more specifically, in the scientific and technological areas in which IFMIF-DONES will play a relevant role.

‘DONES Baseline Review’ boosts project internationalisation

The DONES Baseline Review, which consisted of a detailed analysis of the design status of the project by a panel of renowned experts from outside the project, took place in Granada on 2-3 October.

Research Infrastructures demand a better territorial distribution in Europe

The Declaration of the Spanish Presidency of Tenerife on 25 and 26 September, promoted by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and endorsed by 14 countries, calls for promoting a better-distributed ecosystem of European Research Infrastructures.

IFMIF-DONES stars in an exhibition in the Science Park

‘Walking towards the future, from Granada to the stars. IFMIF-DONES and fusion energy’ is the title of the exhibition inaugurated on 29th September in the Science Window area of the Science Park. The IFMIF-DONES Consortium, the Science Park, the FECYT and the University of Granada produce the collection.

Interview with Almudena Díez, Head of Requirements Management

Almudena Díez (Madrid, 1964) has a degree in Physics. She has 30 years of experience as a project manager, analyst and consultant in engineering companies and software products. Since 2018, she has been part of the DONES Project Integration team as the leader of the definition and implementation of the Requirements Management process.
