Institutional boost to Granada's candidacy: the Government authorizes the creation of the consortium with Regional Government of Andalucía and contributes 16.3 million euros

The candidacy of Granada to host the particle accelerator IFMIF-DONES has gained momentum thanks to the authorization by the Council of Ministers of the creation of the consortium between the Spanish Government and the Regional Government of Andalucía and a contribution of 16.3 million euros to finance various activities for preparing the ground and setting up laboratories.

    The Energy Research Center (EK) was founded in 2012 on the basis of two former independent institutions, the Institute of Isotopes (IKI) and the KFKI Atomic Energy Research Institute (AEKI). This center is part of the research network of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and its main mission is to perform research and development in the field of nuclear science and technology for facilitating the adoption and the safe use of nuclear technology in Hungary.
